The
John Stoudt Quartet is a group of young and extremely
talented jazz musicians consisting of John Stoudt, trumpet,
Andy Warren, guitar, Julian Smith, bass and Jovon Jordan, drums.
Together, they represent the fresh future of jazz!
John Stoudt is an accomplished trumpeter, currently finishing his B.A. in Trumpet Performance at Kutztown University. While at KU, he has played principal trumpet in the university orchestra and wind ensembles, and can be heard on three albums that Jazz Ensemble I has released on national label Sea Breeze Records. John has studied and performed with members of the Count Basie Orchestra, Mingus Big Band, Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, to name a few.
Andy Warren is a jazz guitarist from Northeastern Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Music Education and a B.A. in Music Performance from Kutztown University. He plays with several jazz combos throughout the Berks/Bucks County area, and is currently studying with jazz guitar legend Vic Juris. Andy is finishing his M.M. in Jazz Studies at Rutgers University, where he plays with the top jazz ensemble at the New Brunswick campus.
Born in Chicago, bassist Julian Smith graduated from Berklee School of Music in 2008 where he was a recipient of the North American scholarship and played in the Hal Crook ensemble, as well as Lin Biviano’s big band. Julian also received Illinois Arts Council grants in 2002, 2003 and 2004, and is currently pursuing graduate studies in jazz performance at Rutgers University, where, as a teaching fellow, he directs two jazz combos.
Jovon Jordan is fast becoming a drummer to be reckoned with. He began playing drums at the age of three, and by age five, he was already playing local gigs around Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware. Now, at age 15, he is a prolific composer and producer, and is heavily engaged in live performances and several recording productions.
